The LOVEolution » Ghost Monk haunts UK Theme Park

Construction workers at the UK theme park, Thorpe Park in Chertsey, Surrey, England are reporting seeing the vision of a ghost monk watching them as they are building the 64 foot tall water ride called Storm Surge.  The monk often appears to the men as a headless apparition in a monk’s robe. On other occasions the men report feeling uncomfortable as they experience the sensation of someone watching them, only to turn and find no one there.

Forensic geophysicist’s were called in to research the area using underground radar. Their investigations at the site produced evidence and findings that the area is connected to the ruins of Chertsey Abbey and Thorpe Church, which was established in 666 A.D.  Their reports indicate that an ancient burial site was established in this area which may have been disturbed during the ground breaking of the area to build the new ride for the park.

Disturbing the burial ground may have led to the appearance of the ghost monk and it appears that the structure of the ride would have stood over the area where stone coffins were previously removed from the site. The ride is scary enough in nature, described by Thorpe Park as “Storm Surge – Experience a jaw-dropping 64ft spiralling-descent, go round the twist and lose control on Storm Surge, a wild water spinning raft ride. Riders will experience a jaw-dropping 64ft spiralling descent and the never-ending spin of a rapidly turning life raft in their attempt to escape the  rising waters of Amity.”

Management at the park has decided to have the ride moved to a different location on the property in response to the reports still rolling in about paranormal activity around the current site of the ride.

The park also offers Fright Nights – with rides in the dark and live action horror mazes. Reports continue to flow in about seeing the ghost monk in the park. The ride has been relocated, but it’s possible that now awakened, he will continue to make his presence known around the area.
